Since Modern Family ended in 2020, its cast members have kept busy with new projects.
Ty Burrell
Phil Dunphy, played by Ty Burrell, is easily the best character on Modern Family. He’s lovable and silly, which are two amazing qualities in a dad.
Even when he was on the show, Burrell dabbled in voice acting, and some of his roles include Captain Marvel in The Super Hero Squad Show, Parker in The Penguins of Madagascar, and Bailey the beluga whale in Finding Dory. After the show’s finale, Burrell took on yet another role, this time in Duncanville, Amy Poehler’s animated sitcom.

Julie Bowen
Bowen will executive produce a comedic film that she will star in through her own production company, Bowen & Sons. This comedy will be produced by Universal Television and Bowen & Sons.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Since his time on the show, Ferguson has taken up cooking and released a cookbook as well as food blog. He also dips into his artistic side from time to time with a role in Broadway musicals, like Take Me Out. He has since gotten married and started an amazing family that we couldn’t be happier for!
Eric Stonestreet
Unlike his on-air partner, Eric Stonestreet, who portrayed energetic Cameron Tucker on the series, wanted to stop performing. After the show came to an end, Stonestreet became a part owner of the baseball team Kansas City Royals. He later guest starred on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and served as a judge on America’s Got Talent.
Ed O’Neill
If you were a fan of the television show Married… with Children, then you will be happy to know that Ed O’Neill is back and better than ever in his role as Jay Pritchett on Modern Family. Although we love him for his comedic roles, he is now testing the waters with something new and taking on a more serious character in The Sterling Affairs mini-series, where he plays an NBA owner.
Nolan Gould
Gould’s amazing performance on the sitcom led to another comedy role in The Nana Project. Even though Modern Family has ended, it seems that Gould is still the funny actor we have come to love.
Rico Rodriguez
Even though he didn’t book any major roles after his TV show ended, life goes on for him. He’s spent time helping friends with their projects, hanging out with loved ones, and looking back fondly at the series that made him famous.
Aubrey Anderson-Emmons
Just like Rico Rodriguez, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons – who played Lily Tucker-Pritchett on Modern Family – is living her best teenage years post-show. It’s almost hard to believe that she was only 4 years old when she joined the cast; we watched her grow up right in front of us.
Ariel Winter
Winter is set to take part in a TV series, Hungry. This is not the only gig she landed after her big role on Modern Family though. She also acted in a crime drama called Crimelands and a thriller, Don’t Log Off, to name a few. We can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.
Sarah Hyland
Sarah is now the host of the US version of Love Island. Aside from her career, Hyland just got married to her life-long partner, Wells Adams.
Sofia Vergara
After the end of Modern Family, Vergara took up a role in an animated comedy film, Koati, where she played a wicked snake named Zaina. Aside from starring in the film, she was also the executive producer. Vergara is also a judge on America’s Got Talent. She will also be reprising her role as Gloria Pritchett in the upcoming Modern Family spin-off series.
