These are the 10 most expensive alcoholic drinks in the world:
10. Dalmore 62 – $215,000
This one’s a bit of a mystery. An expensive single malt like this is typically known by the name of its distillery, and often the process that makes it so expensive. However, in this case, no one knows for sure where it got its name from or how much it costs to make it.
Only 12 bottles are available worldwide, so their limited nature contributes to the price. The last known bottle to be spotted in public was actually purchased at Singapore airport.
How it got there, no one really knows, but the anonymous buyer certainly landed on his feet, that’s for sure.
9. Armand de Brignac Midas – $265,000
Made super famous and popular by rappers and sports stars, Armand de Brignac Midas champagne is the world’s most expensive champagne ever!
It’s aged for 30 years and uses some of the finest quality grapes to achieve its distinctive taste.
However, it’s more than likely it’s gold-painted bottle that helped boost its popularity, as it was designed to be one of the most expensive drinks in the world.
8. 1945 Romanee-Conti Wine – $558,000
Romanee-Conti has become the king of collectable wines, and 1945 is its most prized vintage.
They produced 600 bottles of wine in 1945, a significant change as this was the final year before they replaced their vines.
The wine was on sale with Sotheby’s, and they described it as “concentrated and exotic, with seemingly everlasting power — a wine at peace with itself.”
Couple that with the “provenance” of owning this bottle and it’s easy to see why it sold for a whopping $558,000.
7. Macallan 64 Year Old In Lalique – $625,000
Macallan 64 Year Old In Lalique comes in at number seven on the list of most expensive whiskey.
It was actually made to break records, so it’s no surprise that has one hell of a price tag.
Macallan is famous for producing high-quality single-malt whiskey, so when they decided to embark on this challenge, it’s not surprising that they went all in.
Fewer than four bottles of this whiskey were ever created, and its cost is mostly due to the crafting of the bottle.
Each bottle of this “liquor” is made from pure, hand-cut crystal and weighs 25 pounds without any alcohol inside.
6. Mendis Coconut Brandy VS – $1 Million
Coconut has a history of combining well with drinks, but Mendis created a brandy made from coconuts entirely. It’s not surprising that it might fetch such a high price!
Each one of the bottles is numbered and signed by the House of Mendis founder, W.M Mendis.
But despite its uniqueness and limited numbers, $1 Million for a bottle of alcohol is still absolutely absurd, to say the least!
5. Diva Vodka – $1 Million
If you’re looking for something completely different, and really don’t care about the taste or the money, then Diva Vodka might be for you.
This is the only vodka in the world that goes through a second purifying process after being filtered traditionally. The vodka flows through emeralds, diamonds and other precious gemstones before it reaches an elegant bottle with Swarovski crystals lining the center glass tube.
Other than that, you’re paying $1 Million for a bottle of Vodka, which is highly likely to taste just the same as any other good quality brand.
4. Russo-Baltique Vodka – $1.35 Million
The next pricey drink is the Russo-Baltique Vodka.
Those stubborn Russians really set the prices high for this Vodka, costing $1.35 million per bottle.
These bottles are made to resemble vintage cars, and each top is made with 100% pure gold with inlaid diamonds.
Don’t worry though, unless you’re a Russian billionaire or oligarch, you won’t be targeted with any crazy marketing campaigns or followed around the internet with ads. It’s aimed solely at the above-mentioned target market, as they’re about the only ones that can afford it!
3. Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne – $2 Million
Kicking off our top 3 is this heritage cognac that cost $2 Million.
The Cognac itself has been aged for 100 years and the bottle is coated in 24-karat gold, housed in a platinum casing, and covered with diamonds.
It looks like something that would be given to a medieval King after a battle, as a token of surrender or just the spoils of war.
2. Tequila Ley .925 – $3.5 Million
This bottle of tequila comes in second place on our list, but it hasn’t been purchased yet.
The company claims that the 6,400 diamonds on the bottle enhance the flavor of their tequila.
But so far it remains unsold, which may lower the price in future, we’ll just have to wait and see.
But for now, it remains one of the most expensive alcoholic drinks in the world.
1. Billionaire Vodka – $3.7 Million
It was kind of obvious that the number one spot might be taken by a brand that includes “billionaire” in the name, right?
Well, Billionaire Vodka did exactly that. With a brand motto of “It’s good to be the king”, Billionaire Vodka produces the alcoholic drink entirely by hand and completely on demand. Each bottle of vodka uses a top-secret Russian recipe, and is made in small batches to ensure exclusivity.
The five-liter bottle is covered in 3,000 diamonds and Swarovski crystals. It was designed by Leon Verre.
With the most expensive price tag of any alcoholic drink, Billionaire Vodka is a liquor that must be savored.
